Steven Goodstadt is a partner with the Firm concentrating his practice in the areas of general education law, and labor and employment matters. On a daily basis, Mr. Goodstadt provides advice and counsel on general education issues, including matters involving student discipline, open meetings law, freedom of information law (FOIL) requests, third party contracts, as well as employee discipline matters pursuant to Education Law § 3020-a and Civil Service Law § 75 and related investigations.

Prior to joining Ingerman Smith, Mr. Goodstadt served as an Assistant County Attorney in the Suffolk County Office of Labor Relations, where he worked on a variety of issues involving labor and employment law. Mr. Goodstadt also handled numerous disciplinary cases involving civil service employees pursuant to New York State Civil Service Law.

Mr. Goodstadt is admitted to practice law in New York, and in the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association. Mr. Goodstadt also has served as the Co-Chair of the Suffolk County Bar Association's Education Law Committee since 2021 and was recently appointed as an Officer of the Suffolk County Academy of Law.
