Mr. McAlvin is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, cum laude, and St. John's University School of Law. Following law school, Mr. McAlvin spent two years as a litigation associate with a labor and employment law firm. Mr. McAlvin then joined the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office where he was assigned to the Economic Crimes Bureau (formerly known as the White Collar Crimes Bureau). After his tenure with the District Attorney's Office, he returned to private practice where he concentrated in federal communications law and intellectual property rights litigation matters. Since joining Ingerman Smith, Mr. McAlvin has primarily concentrated his practice in the areas of labor/employment, construction, commercial law, and general education law issues. Mr. McAlvin is admitted to the practice of law in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. Mr. McAlvin is also admitted to practice in the courts of the State of New York and New Jersey.
